Bootastic Halloween Recap
Halloween is by far one of my favorite holidays. It satisfies my penchant for dressing up, holiday decorating, and all things vampy. I'm usually always game, but the past two years have caught me like a deer in headlights scrambling for a last minute look. I have costume ideas for days, but I was a little bummed that I didn't have the time to execute two costumes I've had on ice for years. There's always next year!
I knew that I had two parties to attend, and seeing everyone's creativity put me right back in the mood. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, and a body hugging-striped midi dress that I purchased from Vernacular this past summer, I was 60% ready to take on Halloween this year.
Perusing Jezebel Magazine's events, I saw Michael C Carlos Museum's annually sold out Mummies & Mixers fête and knew I had to attend. It's a halloween party in a museum that houses Ancient Egyptian and Nubian antiquities. It was intoxicating being surrounded by all this rich history after museum hours, with hit tunes vibing upstairs. The hypnotizing cocktails courtesy of Proof Cocktail Syrups and Yellow Rose Whiskey didn't hurt either. I'm a geek, sue me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE museums, so to me it was lit! I'm so glad that I attended despite my previous anti-Halloween mood.
One of my favorite places to go for happy hour, STK, threw it's own Day of the Dead Party. . It just donned on me that the first epic Halloween party I attended was at Opera nightclub, and I ended up there again for this Halloween weekend to introduce Waldo to Biancaland. Those were the days ....

I live to see what Heidi Klum, June Ambrose, and Kim Kardashian (Yes, I love KKW's style, and it's not up for debate) concoct every year, so I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with tonight. Comment below the best costumes you saw this season!
