Exhale Spa is the perfect place to enjoy some time away from the city solo or a spa day with the girls. My first introduction to Exhale Spa was when they were recognized for giving the best facial in Allure Magazine's 2014 "Atlanta: The Best of the Best" article. I grew up with Allure being my beauty bible, and I would always read their "Best of" lists hoping that Atlanta businesses would be featured for me to try.

Do not wash your face before a facial

Fast forward to 2017 and I still hadn't made it a priority to get to Exhale. I joined the fitness subscription app ClassPass in December and saw my opportunity to give the spa a chance. Weeks before committing to a Classpass membership, I met a lovely couple at the Miracle Two Christmas pop up that couldn’t stop singing Exhale Spa's praises. I took it as a sign that I needed to gift myself a rejuvenation session.

I’ve always been aware that my skin needs to be protected and kept hydrated in order to preserve the sexy for as long as possible. I swear by moisturizing every night from head to toe and applying sunscreen even on cloudy days. Yes, genetics play a huge role in longevity, but I’m a firm believer in preventative measures. Unfortunately, life tends to take over and my skin had not been feeling as smooth and vibrant as I knew it could. I was headed to Los Angeles soon, so I knew that the few weeks ahead would provide the perfect opportunity to get my skin and beauty routine back on track. It was the best decision ever!

I needed to unplug for the day, so I decided to staycation for the night at the illustrious Loews Atlanta Hotel. Exhale Spa is housed on the 7th floor of the hotel, so you don't have to leave the property to get your zen on. The ability to create a serene atmosphere without ever leaving the hotel was a huge plus. I had to pull myself away from the sweeping views of Peachtree St. from the 24th floor, but my experience at Exhale Spa quickly took my mind and body into an even deeper state of relaxation. The warm neck pillows and cucumber water in the dim waiting area were a welcoming starting point.

Since my staycation was all about renewing my beauty routine, I was thrilled to experience Exhale Spa's award-winning True Facial. After a brief check-in, I was whisked off for a quick tour of the fitness center, hammam + sauna, and dressing room. My esthetician Ashley arrived a few moments later and asked a few standard questions to get a better understanding of my skin care concerns and needs. I expressed that I normally have oily skin in my T-zone, cheeks, and chin areas, however, I foolishly washed off my makeup 5 minutes prior to services. Of course, she noticed that my skin was dry because I didn’t moisturize afterward!

Noting my hyper- and hypo-pigmentation, Ashley recommended that I get a Z-peel, drink more water, and receive a facial every 2-6 months to see an improvement in my skin's well-being.

Of course, the true testament to a successful treatment is how your skin feels hours and days afterward. My skin felt like butta for over a week! For someone who constantly has clogged pores, it was a great week of being able to cut down on the never ending exfoliation process. My skin was so vibrant that even my partner could tell a difference in the appearance of my complexion. Makeup glided onto my face effortlessly, so I didn't feel the need to apply as much as I normally would.

I knew that I was committing a cardinal felony by constantly exposing my face to the bacteria on my hands, but I couldn’t stop touching myself! Even days later, as long as I cleansed, moisturized, and masked, my skin was supple and glowing, no highlighter needed. Okurrr.
